Students arriving after 12:15pm will forfeit their reservation to waiting list students.

Medical Student Tour: Fort Belvoir Community Hospital
Limit 20 Medical Students

The US Army invites medical students to tour the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH). Located on the US Army installation Fort Belvoir near Alexandria, Virginia, FBCH is the newest of military community hospitals. FBCH transformed from an Army unit to a joint military medical unit staffed by Army, Navy, Air Force and civilian employees. FBCH is the modern example of future hospitals from environmentally friendly construction and utilization to the new norm of inpatient care. Tour will focus on emergency medicine and include a visit to the in-house simulation lab.

Premedical Student Tour: Uniformed Services University – Val G. Hemming Simulation Center
Limit 30 Premedical Students

The US Army invites premedical students to tour the Uniformed Services University Val G. Hemming Simulation Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. This facility includes surgical, emergency room and field hospital simulations, medical gaming, and battlefield and natural-disaster scenarios. Through partnerships with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies and civilian universities, the simulation center combines the use of standardized patients, human patient simulators, task trainers, and virtual reality to deliver training in clinical skills, procedure skills, operative skills and teamwork. Students will also have the opportunity to meet staff and residents of the Uniformed Services University of Health Science (America’s Medical School).
