Racial Justice in Medicine Award

Racial Justice in Medicine Award

AMSA has always held a strong voice when it comes to advocating for rights regarding racial and ethnic justice. In fact, this was one of AMSA’s founding principles. As an organization, we have empowered physicians-in-training to be advocates and activists to achieve equality and justice for all. This started with our work during the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s.

The AMSA Racial Justice Award in Medicine was created in 2019 to recognize those who have done outstanding work to improve disparities in healthcare on the basis of race or ethnicity.
